Q: What classes do you offer in your studio?
A: We offer weekly science enrichment classes, Saturday Science, Special Events on days off of school, field trips to schools, Girl Scout Events, and birthday parties.

Q: Do you offer classes outside of your science studio?
A:  Yes!  We provide science enrichment classes and field trips to schools and daycare centers upon request.

Q: What are your studio hours?
A:  We are in the studio on Tuesdays from 12:30-3:00 and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Q:  How many students are in each class?
A: Our class sizes vary from 5-20 students, always with two teachers.

Q: How old does my child need to be to participate in your TLaS! classes?
A:  Your child needs to be 4 by September 1, 2016 to participate in our weekly classes.
A: Your child needs to be 4 by September 1, 2016 to participate in our Summer Camps.

Q:  How do I register my child(ren) for a class?
A:  You contact Coleen Herbst and Jodi Wooten at tlascientist@gmail.com and we will email you the registration paperwork.  You can also call us at 484-678-1602 (Coleen) or 484-319-8825 (Jodi).  Note:  Your child’s spot is secure on our roster once we have received your child’s tuition and paperwork.

Q:  Do I have to register my child for the entire year?
A:  No, you don’t have to register for the entire year.  However, if you register for the entire year, you do receive a discount. Please inquire about this option if you are interested.  You can also register monthly. We also offer drop in classes for $40 per class. 

Q:  How do I pay for a class?
A:  You can pay via cash, credit card, or you can write a check payable to Think Like a Scientist! llc and remit it to:

Q:  My child has allergies.  How do you protect children with allergies?
A:  Your child’s safety is our first priority.  Please be sure to fill out the allergy information on our Emergency Contact/Medical Information form so we are aware of your child’s allergies. If your child has any type of food allergy, we ask that the parent provide a safe snack for their own child.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A:  In the event of a class being cancelled by TLaS!, we will do our best to reschedule the class.  If that is not possible, you can choose to receive a credit towards a future class or request a refund.  

If we need to cancel due to weather, we follow the delays and cancellations of WCASD.  If school is delayed or canceled, TLaS! is as well.  If your child’s class is cancelled, your child is welcome to attend any other class during that week.  Please email us to let us know which class they will be attending.  If you are unable to attend another class the week of the weather cancellation we regret that we are unable to refund payment for this class.

Q:  What is your refund policy?
A:  Classes and Special Events:
If you cancel your child’s registration between 7 to 14 days from the start of the class or event, we will issue a credit toward a future class. If you cancel 7 days or less prior to the class we regret that we are unable to refund payment for these classes/events.

A: Camps:  We will issue a refund less a $10 administration fee for camp cancellations before May 1st, 2017. A 50% refund will be issued for cancellations after May 1st.  If we can fill that space before the camps begins we will refund you the remaining 50% less a $10 administration fee.

A:  Birthday Parties, Girl Scout Events:  If you need to cancel, we will do our best to find an alternate date to host your event.  If we are unfortunately unable to reach a date, then TLaS! is unable to refund your deposit.

Q:  What if my child misses a class due to sickness or vacation?
A:  In the event that a child is unable to attend a class, we will do our best to offer a make up class (in that same week so they can attend that lesson) or provide your child with the materials for the day’s activities to do at home.  We regret that we are unable to refund payment for missed classes.

Q: If I know my child will be missing a weekly class due to a planned vacation can I pay the “drop in” rate for the classes my child can attend that month? 

A: Yes! You may pay the “drop in” rate for the classes your child can attend that month. The following month you can return to the monthly tuition schedule. 

Q:  What happens if I am late to pick up my child?
A:  We understand that life happens!  Please be in touch with Coleen (484-678-1602) or Jodi (484-319-8825) so we are aware of your emergency.  If we are not aware, we will collect a late fee of $10 if you are more than 5 minutes late.

Q:  Do you use photos of children in marketing materials?
A:  Yes, if the parent gives permission.  When registering your child for a TLaS! class or event, there will be a Photo Release form for the parent to fill out regarding permission to photograph your child.

Q:  What is your privacy policy?
A:  Your privacy is important to us!  Think Like a Scientist! llc values its customers and respects your right to privacy.  We use the information you provide about yourself and your children to complete registration and to communicate with you.  We do not sell, rent, or give your name, address, or any other personal information to third parties.
